APS Creates Savings Opportunities for KAMMCO Members

KAMMCO member organizations now have access to a wide range of money-saving healthcare goods and services, thanks to a new partnership with Overland Park-based APS, a regional purchasing group owned by the Kansas Hospital Association (KHA) and Missouri Hospital Association (MHA).

APS has assembled a diverse portfolio of solutions designed to meet the needs of small and medium-sized providers at pricing traditionally available only to larger healthcare organizations. Offerings range from staffing and credentialing services to outsourced revenue cycle management and medical supplies.  “KAMMCO and APS are both mission-driven organizations that exist solely to create value for healthcare providers,” said Kurt Scott, KAMMCO’s president and chief executive officer. “In these extremely difficult times, we’re excited about the extent to which this partnership will give our members new opportunities to reduce costs and strengthen operations and clinical care.”

“Independent physician clinics and community hospitals are the backbone of healthcare in Kansas,” Scott continued. “We hope access to these solutions can help our members remain financially healthy and independent.”

Provider Collaboration
Dennis George, chief executive officer of APS, said the arrangement represented a strong fit for both organizations. “We work with our members to identify best practices, solve diverse operational challenges and save time and money across the supply chain,” George said. “Bringing in new members and new ideas will benefit not only KAMMCO companies but APS as a whole.”

KAMMCO members can access the APS portfolio at no cost or obligation by simply signing a participation agreement. Interested organizations will be assigned an APS client service representative to help analyze cost-saving opportunities and select the most appropriate solutions.

A Diverse Portfolio
Goods and services in the APS portfolio include workforce solutions for both temporary and permanent clinical and allied health roles available through more than two dozen national staffing companies; business and operational services, such as financial and management consulting, information technology consulting, 340B pharmacy solutions, telehealth and staff training; and materials and facilities management capabilities, including end-to-end capital equipment consulting and purchasing; onsite equipment service and repair, office supplies, med-surg supplies, high efficiency lighting; energy management audits, disinfectant solutions and much more.

About APS
APS was created by the KHA and MHA to increase contracting efficiency and reduce costs for members by coordinating the research and development of product and service contracts. Based on the purchasing power of its members, APS’ experienced team negotiates advantageous agreements with local and regional vendors, then passes on superior pricing, terms and conditions to members.
