KAMMCO Board Approves Long-Term Leadership Succession Plan
KAMMCO’s Board of Directors has approved a long-term leadership transition plan to ensure sustained stability, effective leadership, and continued support for Kansas healthcare professionals.
As part of this plan, President and CEO Kurt Scott has announced his intention to retire at the end of 2028 after nearly four decades with KAMMCO. The Board has unanimously selected Tucker Poling, JD, as the next President and CEO. Effective immediately, Poling is promoted to Executive Vice President and General Counsel as he prepares for the transition to the organization’s top leadership role.

Scott joined KAMMCO in 1989 and has played a key role in the organization’s growth and mission over the past 36 years. In announcing the transition plan, he affirmed the importance of succession planning to ensure KAMMCO continues to serve and protect Kansas healthcare professionals for generations to come.
“This transition represents a positive and thoughtful step forward,” Scott said in his announcement to staff. “It will help ensure that KAMMCO continues to fulfill its mission for the next generation of healthcare professionals. In fact, my contribution to continuing that success will be that I will remain at KAMMCO in an advisory role for a few years after my retirement in December of 2028.”

Poling, a key member of KAMMCO’s leadership team, will continue to be involved with the Claims Department during the transition while assuming expanded executive responsibilities. His experience and understanding of KAMMCO’s mission position him well to guide the organization into its next chapter.
The multi-year transition plan is intended to provide continuity for KAMMCO members, staff, and the healthcare organizations and professionals the company serves throughout Kansas.

Courtney Cyzman, JD, Vice President, Claims
As part of the transition, KAMMCO has welcomed Courtney Cyzman, JD, as the new Vice President of Claims. Cyzman succeeds Poling and brings a wealth of experience in healthcare law, litigation, and regulatory matters.
Before joining KAMMCO, Cyzman held several positions at the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts, ultimately serving as General Counsel. Most recently, she practiced at Logan, Logan & Watson, LC in Prairie Village, focusing on defending healthcare professionals and medical facilities in medical malpractice litigation and licensure proceedings, including representing KAMMCO insureds.
KAMMCO leadership voiced enthusiasm for the experience and perspective Cyzman brings to the organization and the Claims team. While Poling will remain involved with Claims during the transition, Cyzman will assume day-to-day leadership responsibilities as she settles into her new role.
