February 23, 2022

Yolanda Sims JD, MHA

The Department of Health and Human Services launched a cyber website on Dec. 1 for its 405(d) Aligning Health Care Industry Security Approaches Program. The website offers healthcare providers and public health officials cybersecurity and patient safety resources. The program’s motto, “Cyber Safety is Patient Safety,” was developed by the Cybersecurity Act Task Group, which comprises 150 federal government and industry professionals. The website will serve as a common platform for all industry stakeholders to find updated and unique cybersecurity content impacting the healthcare sector.

New Website – Highlights

  • The 405(d) website was created as a congressional mandate under the Cybersecurity Act of 2015.
  • The Task Group’s work includes assisting HHS to better align industry security practices and develop consensus-based guidelines to strengthen all healthcare organizations’ postures against cyber threats. Their ongoing work will be vetted and updated regularly.
  • The comprehensive website offers resources, products, videos, and tools to raise cybersecurity awareness. It also features the following:
    •  Cybersecurity posters
    •  Infographics
    •  Installments of the HHS bi-monthly 405(d) newsletter
    • Webinar recordings highlighting threat-specific cybersecurity training modules.
