PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
What you do online is part of your digital footprint and can impact your professional life. This program will explore how your online activity when viewed by patients, licensing boards or plaintiffs’ attorneys can leave your reputation in shambles. We will discuss why rants and raves are dangerous and how meme’s can be used to tarnish your character.  We will also look at managing privacy settings, postings that breach confidentiality and violate HIPAA, responding to online negative reviews and what action you can take to minimize your liability risk.

The healthcare team, including Risk Managers, Office Managers, Hospital/Facility Administrators, Nurses, Physicians, Non Physician Providers and other healthcare professionals.

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY

Yolanda Sims, KAMMCO’s Loss Prevention & Risk Management Advisor, interacts daily with a broad array of healthcare providers and administrators from hospitals, health systems, and physician practices that seek risk advice on various matters such as health information privacy, federal and state regulatory requirements, and policy development. Ms. Sims holds a joint degree, (JD/MHA) from St. Louis University, School of Law and School of Public Health with a certification in Health Law. She is a member of the Kansas and Missouri Bar Associations, the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, and the Association of Corporate Counsel.

Connie Christian assists KAMMCO members in clinical risk management, patient safety, facility safety, emergency preparedness, and peer review procedures. She received her Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Colorado Technical University. Connie is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management, holds a Patient Safety Certificate both through the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) and is certified in Emergency Management with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. She is a member of the MPL Association Data Sharing Advisory Committee, Kansas Association of Risk and Quality Managers (KARQM) and the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM).
