KAMMCO partners with Med-IQ to offer online accredited education for our members.

To access the Loss Prevention 2024 online course:

  1. Use the button below to navigate to the Med-IQ login page.
  2. Sign in using your email address or user ID and your password. Follow these instructions to create a username and password.
  3. Look for the Supplemental box.
  4. Select the program titled “The Art of Endurance: Managing Challenging Clinical Encounters.”

Eligible members must view the Loss Prevention 2024 program by September 30, 2024, to receive the 5% loss prevention premium credit.

The program will remain open past September 30, 2024, up until December 31, 2024, to allow KAMMCO members to continue to view the course for continuing education credit only.

Join KAMMCO Risk Management Advisors Yolanda Sims, JD, MHA, and Connie Christian, MBA, CPHRM, as they provide you with practical strategies for managing challenging patient behaviors. Learn how to respond effectively to unauthorized recordings during clinical visits and negative feedback on social media.

In addition, our experts will share techniques to foster a secure and supportive environment for both your staff and patients. They’ll also guide you through the nuanced process of when and how to professionally conclude a patient-provider relationship.

  1. Identify communication practices to improve the care of challenging patients in your work environment.
  2. Explain the importance of quality documentation when treating challenging patients to mitigate professional liability risks.
  3. Demonstrate effective techniques to de-escalate patients exhibiting threatening and disruptive behaviors.
  4. Outline steps for a comprehensive provider-patient relationship termination process.

ACCME (Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education)

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Med-IQ and KAMMCO. Med-IQ is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Med-IQ designates this enduring material for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center)

Med-IQ is accredited with distinction as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

This nursing activity offers a maximum of 1.0 contact hour(s). This activity is jointly provided by Med-IQ and KAMMCO.


Individual Providers

By participating in the 2024 Loss Prevention program, eligible insureds receive a 5% loss prevention credit on their 2025 policy premium. This applies to individually insured members.

Facilities

The facility’s administrator or risk manager must participate for insured facilities to receive the 5% loss prevention credit.

Uninsured Providers

Individuals who participate in this program who KAMMCO does not currently insure may be eligible to receive a policy premium credit if they become insured by KAMMCO within one year after participation.
