Ms. Christian will discuss the challenges associated with documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). She will highlight case studies that illustrate how missteps, omissions, and errors in documentation can pull a provider or a medical staff member into a deposition, and she will outline practical steps on how to improve daily documentation.

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY

Ms. Christian assists KAMMCO members in clinical risk management, patient safety, facility safety, emergency preparedness, and peer review procedures. She received her Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Colorado Technical University. Connie is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management, holds a Patient Safety Certificate both through the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) and is certified in Emergency Management with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. She is a member of the MPL Association Data Sharing Advisory Committee, Kansas Association of Risk and Quality Managers (KARQM) and the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM).
