Professional skills\, including accurate and concise charting\, effective patient-centered communication and follow-up\, and proactive communication with their colleagues\, all increase the odds of depositions going well for a provider. In this year’s KAMMCO Loss Prevention program\, accomplished defense litigator\, Don Gribble\, JD\, will discuss how the skills contributing to quality patient care mirror the core factors leading to a successful provider deposition. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nObjectives\n\n\n\n\nCorrelate crucial healthcare delivery elements with patient outcomes.\n\n\n\nIdentify the key elements necessary for defensible care.\n\n\n\nRecognize when high-quality care is given\, it is also defensible.  \n\n\n\nDescribe risk reduction approaches that promote high-quality patient care\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAudience\n\n\n\nThis program is designed for the healthcare team\, including physicians\, clinic managers\, hospital and facility administrators\, risk managers\, nurses\, long-term care providers\, and other healthcare professionals. \n\n\n\n\nContinuing Education Credits\nThis activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Accreditation Requirements and Policies of the ACCME through the joint providership of Stormont Vail Medical Education Services and KAMMCO. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPhysicians \n\n\n\nStormont Vail Health is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
