Those who are impacted are the HIE users who DO NOT use the secure messaging capabilities offered by their EMR company but rather, use our Direct messaging services with an email address domain that looks like one of these:

What is happening to my direct message account?
The Direct secure messaging service we offer through Secure Exchange Solutions (SES) is undergoing system updates. These updates are primarily technical in nature with regard to enhanced security and ONC 2015 HISP certification.

What is the end user impact?
  1. Upon logging in after the April 27 updates, users will notice slight changes to mailbox functionality. The Inbox, Sent, and Draft folders will remain unchanged, but user defined folders will not be supported at this time. This functionality is anticipatedtoreturn later in 2019.
  2. Previously stored messages will ONLY be available in an archived location at archive.kammcox.com (Beginning April 27, 2019). Your current username and password will work for both the update and archive access. In the near future, the archived messages will be migrated to the updated version so that your messages are in one place.
  3. Any direct mailboxes that have not been used in the past 6 months will NOT be migrated.

The system updates will be in effect on Saturday, April 27, 2019.

While several of the SES enhancements are technical "behind the scenes" components, users should appreciate knowing these changes are beneficial with regard to Meaningful Use Stage 3 and MIPS reporting.

What do I need to do?

There is nothing required of you. The updates will be put in place on April 27, 2019. Please remember the archive file location is archive.kammcox.com and will be live April 27, 2019 should you need access to messages you had saved prior to the update. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your HIE Project Manager or the health information helpdesk at 877-520-5448.
