Beginning August 15, 2019, KAMMCO members who are unable to attend one of the four live loss prevention program options (see listing below), can take advantage of a convenient online classroom version. This year’s Opioid program will be available through Med-IQ, the KAMMCO online learning partner. Eligible members who complete the online course through Med-IQ by September 30, 2019, at 11:59 P.M may still earn the five percent policy premium credit for attendance. Please note however, CME is not available for this program option. CLICK HERE to register for this online learning opportunity.
KAMMCO 2019 Program Details:
United Nations data shows that the United States has approximately five percent of the world’s population yet it outpaces all other countries in opioid use. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, two out of three drug overdose deaths involve an opioid. Overdose deaths from opioids killed more than 47,000 people in 2017, and 36 percent of those deaths involved prescription opioids. As the overdose death rate continues to increase and shows no signs of slowing, the opioid crisis has reached a climax.
The KAMMCO 2019 Fall Loss Prevention Program invites members to learn about "Opioids: A Perspective on Prescribing, Pain Management and Liability Trends" presented by an experienced panel of healthcare and legal professionals.
The panelists will also discuss best practices and share valuable resources that attendees can utilize to protect themselves from potential liability, both civil and criminal.
