On October 14, 2016, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued its final rule implementing the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA), and established the Quality Payment Program (QPP). The QPP seeks to improve Medicare by helping providers focus on care quality and the one thing that matters most — making patients healthier. The QPP also introduced major changes to how Medicare pays clinicians. Implementation of the program began in 2017.
The Quality Payment Program Year 2 is 2018. CMS listened to participants and made adjustments to assure: the program’s measures and activities are meaningful; the clinician burden is minimized; care coordination is better; and clinicians have a clear way to participate in Advanced APMs.

KaMMCO Education on Quality Payment Programs
Since the beginning, KaMMCO has worked diligently to offer education programs relevant to insured physicians, hospital administrators and risk managers, as well as others involved in the delivery of quality health care. We understand the massive transition underway to participate in the Quality Payment Program (QPP).
KaMMCO strives to provide its members with educational events that assist in this transition to QPP. Visit the KaMMCO Events page to register for an upcoming educational event.
In addition, awareness of business intelligence and analytics solutions can support physicians in achieving high scores in the QPP measurement areas of quality, cost, clinical practice improvement and advancing care information. Visit KHS Analytics Dashboards to learn more about analytics solutions.
